Just back from a second appearance at Lincoln Center, The Perugia Jazz Festival and a European tour with Black Earth Sway, The Zahili Zamora Afro-Cuban Jazz Quartet led by Afro-Cuban jazz pianist and vocalist Zahili Zamora, bassist Gerson Lazo Quiroga, drummer Zack O’Farrill and Special Guest, saxophonist Yosvany Terry checks in at The Regattabar.

“Zahili’s writing and playing are of one piece, elegant, thoughtful, and with purpose . . . what separates the superior from the good player is not what he or she plays but what they choose not to play. They are good listeners, first, and then they put their talents to the service of the music. This is what I hear here from her.” - Fernando Gonzalez, former Jazz Columnist at The Boston Globe and The Miami Herald.

“The buzz around Cuban pianist Zahili Zamora is powerful: her elegant keyboard wizardry and precision vocals jump fresh from Havana's worldwide stage” - Fred Bouchard, former jazz journalist and critic for Downbeat Magazine and The Boston Globe.

Zahili González Zamora is a Cuban-born pianist, composer, arranger, and educator whose music bridges Afro-Cuban tradition with the forward-looking spirit of contemporary jazz. A summa cum laude graduate of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute master’s program—where she studied under Danilo Pérez, John Patitucci, and and Joe Lovano—Zahili has quickly become a distinctive voice in the international jazz landscape. Her work is acclaimed for its rhythmic sophistication, luminous harmonic language, and deep emotional narrative rooted in migration, identity, and transformative resilience.
