ABC is a national nonprofit program that identifies, recruits, and refers qualified, highly motivated students of color to community ABC programs across the country. Winchester ABC provides a dedicated and supervised home for eight to ten students (who are called “scholars”), where they live while they attend Winchester High School and prepare for college. The program provides academic and other support and receives extensive help from a network of community volunteers. Since Winchester ABC’s inception in 1971, more than 100 scholars have graduated Winchester High School, received advanced degrees from top higher education institutions, and launched successful careers.
