A New York resident since 2001, Grammy® Award Winner Alon Yavnai was born and raised in Israel, where he acquired his formal music education. In 1996, three years after arriving in the United States, Alon won first prize at the Great American Jazz Piano Competition. After several years living in Boston, where Alon recorded two albums as a leader, he moved to New York and toured worldwide with Paquito D’Rivera and his Quintet and Jazz Chamber Trio for the next few years.
