Thousands of music lovers from all over the world will head to Newport, Rhode Island, at the end of this month for the 2015 edition of the Newport Jazz Festival, produced by legendary impresario George Wein and presented by Natixis Global Asset Management. You can be among them and support Boston's jazz community at the same time.

From Friday to Sunday, the three stages in historic Fort Adams State Park will showcase a stellar lineup ranging from up-and-coming and established artists to living legends. A series of tributes to Miles David will unfold on the new Storyville stage, modeled on Wien's world famous Boston jazz club of the 50s. Gates open at 10 am and the music starts at 11 am and ends at 6:30 pm each day.

Friday: Snarky Puppy, Christian McBride Trio, John Hollenbeck Large Ensemble, Ambrose Akinmusire Quartet, Lucky Peterson-Singin' the Blues, Kneebody.
Saturday: Cassandra Wilson Celebrates Billie Holiday, Maria Schneider Orchestra, Jack DeJohnette's Made in Chicago with special guests Henry Threadgill and Muhal Richard Abrams, Kenny Garrett Quintet, Wycliffe Gordon & Friends, Irvin Mayfield & the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, Jon Batiste & Stay Human, Hiromi-The Trio Project, Pat Martino Organ Trio, Miles Davis talk hosted by Ashley Kahn.
Sunday: Arturo Sandoval, Michel Camilo/Hiromi Piano Duets, Mike Stern/Bill Evans Band, Arturo O'Farrill's Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, Jamie Cullum, Bill Frisell Trio, Fred Hersch Trio, Jon Faddis-Triumph of Trumpets, Miles Davis talk hosted by Ashley Kahn.

Leave your car home, take the WBGO bus

Once again this year, WBGO is offering round-trip transportation from the Berklee School of Music, 1140 Boylston Street, to the festival gate on all three days. Buses board at 8:30 am Friday for departure promptly at 9 am; on Saturday and Sunday, boarding is at 7:30 am for departure promptly at 8 am. We're waiting for information on a special transportation discount for JazzBoston members.
