JazzBoston @ BeanTown Puts Spotlight on Local Jazz Radio Hosts, Launches Listening Habits Survey with Great Prizes
To draw attention to the crucial role local radio plays in sustaining Boston's jazz scene, this year we invited DJs from college and small community stations throughout the Greater Boston area to be part of the line-up for our traditional "Meet Boston's Musicians" program. We also designated part of our space as "Jazz Radio Central" - the place for visitors to find out about the Campaign for Local Jazz Radio that JazzBoston is coordinating on behalf of Greater Boston's jazz community and for DJs, hosts, programmers, and managers to connect with their counterparts at other stations.

In further support of the jazz community's campaign to get more jazz onto the local airwaves, visitors were asked to complete a short survey about their music listening habits. Click here to complete the survey and become eligible to win tickets for two to a performance at Scullers Jazz Club or a gift certificate for brunch for two at Darryl's Corner Bar & Kitchen. The deadline to respond is Wednesday, Oct. 31.

If you're interested in joining one of the five teams working on the jazz radio campaign, send an email to thefutureofjazz@jazzboston.org.

Among the special guests at JazzBoston's tent was saxophonist and educator Tia Fuller (photo left, above), a visiting guest artist at Berklee, who drew a crowd for her women-in-jazz clinic.
