JazzBoston and Dayla Arabella Adventures Lead VIP Trip to Panama Jazz Festival in January

There's no need to mourn the end of summer when you can start planning for a very special, and specially priced, winter getaway - six days and nights at the Panama Jazz Festival, founded by Boston-based pianist and composer Danilo Perez. JazzBoston is partnering with Dayla Arabella Adventures to offer our third VIP package trip to the festival, which takes place January 16 - 22 in Panama City.

The 2012 Panama Jazz Festival features one of the best lineups in the nine-year history of the event. Among the performers: Chucho Valdes (photo above), Carlos Garnett, John Scofield, Omara Portuondo, Tito Puente Jr., and Charlie Sepulveda. A day of free performances in the colorful Plaza Catedral of the Old City will cap a week of great music, delicious cuisine, walks through tropical rain forests, and for sun worshipers, plenty of time pool-side.

In addition to VIP tickets to all concerts, the JazzBoston VIP package includes a reception with the U.S. Ambassador to Panama; a private tour of the awe-inspiring Panama Canal that will take you close enough to touch the ships as they pass through the locks; entry to master classes and clinics conducted by the festival artists; deep discounts on beautiful accommodations at the Hotel El Panama, the official hotel of the festival; and round-trip air fare from Boston. We'll also have a welcome reception for our group in the pool area of the hotel and a closing dinner on the private terrace of one of the finest restaurants in Panama City.

For details on joining the 2012 group, which is limited to 20 people, write to panama@jazzboston.org.
